As said many times on the show before, there is no greater coach than our own bodies - IF we take pause and actually listen to it. Sam Davis was forced to radically overhaul her life, her training and nutrition once she began to pay attention to the cries for help her body was giving her. Narrowing down to severe adrenal fatigue, thyroid problems and overall hormonal imbalance Sam put the barbell down in order to take back her health, a process that took her the better part of a year. "Change your nutrition, change your life." Adjusting your diet can do much more than just tip the scale in your favor, for some it can literally change your entire well-being. This was the case for Johnny and Bethany Gonzalez once they took a look at their diet in comparison to their physical symptoms of allergies, auto-immune issues, and total body inflammation. Basically - how they felt entirely! The keto diet and eventually adopting a whole foods focused and sugar-free diet has helped them not only look their best but feel years younger in ways they never thought possible!

Although you may not see it now, in the past, Johnny and Bethany of Top Notch Nutrition both struggled with very serious health issues. Bethany suffered from a debilitating auto-immune disease that crippled her in more ways than one. A victim of Guillain Barre Syndrome, a disease that caused her to have no motor or sensory function in her lower legs, preventing her from walking without assistance. This was accompanied by a multitude of other life-altering symptoms, including chronic nerve pain, poor sleep, poor diet and an unhealthy relationship with food.

As for Johnny, he had some of the worst allergies his doctor had ever seen (both environmental & food), along with SIBO, Candida overgrowth, unexplainable throat and mouth ulcers, etc. Along with their commitment to each other, they made the commitment to doing everything they could to improve their overall health. After spending thousands and thousands (and more thousands!) of dollars on traditional medicine and treatments, they realized they needed to take a different route. They needed to heal themselves naturally, through diet, supplementation and faith.
