We now know that about 80% of our immune system is made up in our gut. So to improve a vast majority of our overall wellness we really need to be focusing on our microbiome.

 

As an attorney, Tina Anderson also worked in the pharmaceutical field for 15 years. Together with their family, they had built thriving careers. But, while successful, their careers were not feeding their passion of natural health and well-being.

 

During their quest, they discovered how incredibly important gut health is to overall health, and they discovered that an imbalance in the gut leads to the majority of diseases and illness out there. Erik Salzenstein went from drug dealer, addict and convicted felon to full time speaker and coach because with one small, yet difficult, choice - "change my mindset". Erik’s journey is something incredibly special and signifies in such a powerful way the process and the possibility of change, the essence of living a life EVER FORWARD!

 

He struggled and battled with drug addiction, anxiety and greed. His life spiraled out of control and he found himself in a courtroom facing some serious time. Erik was sentenced to 4 years in prison and made a decision to do whatever it was going to take to transform his life. He spent his time relentlessly pursuing and studying personal development. Depression. Anxiety. PTSD. Seasonal affective disorder. Sadness. Happiness. We all have mental health, some people have mental illness. There is a difference between the two but it can often get lumped into the same category. We believe that, as part of our entire wellbeing, we need to bring more attention to improving our mental health. We need to learn how to help our loved ones that may be suffering from mental illness. But overall, as part of living a life ever forward, we need bring awareness to how we perceive our mindset, its contribution to our wellness and possible indicators that it is not well.

In my wellness journey, specifically during the last several years, I have looked more inward for change than strictly external training. Lo Bondi has helped with that internal work and allowed me to better identify and work through past traumas in my "sacred container", as she calls it, to create the healing and re-patterning process necessary. 

Lo's psychology background provides her the scope of practice but it is her personal physical and emotional traumas that give her the anecdotal experience to relate to her audience and clients in a profound way. A survivor in the truest sense, Lo's continued self-work makes her a lighthouse of what is possible when we decide to face the good, the bad, and the ugly in our lives on our wellness journey.

Welcome to the first episode in a mini-series from the Spartan World Championships 2019 from the beautiful Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe, CA!
